HELP - Brewing Station Outdoor Kitchen Problem

Any BEAVR General Contractors out there available to give some advice or can anyone recommend a trustworthy contractor?

So I am building my outdoor kitchen with integrated brewing station so I go to City Hall to pull the Electrical and Plumbing permits and am told my patio cover, which extends the length of the house, is not permitted. It came with the house when I bought it in 2004 and was not disclosed. Furthermore, the way it is attached to the house is probably not to code. Building Inspector said he would be able to sign off on the outdoor kitchen, but he would have to issue a correction notice on the patio cover and I will have to bring it to code. Unfortunately that will most likely blow the budget for the brewing station.

I just need to know what needs to be done to bring it to code.

No bueno.

Thanks
Ed

The inspector should have explained what corrections were required. When I built my cover (years ago) I went to Lancaster City Hall and they gave me a printed flyer with the requirements of building a patio cover. Might be a good place to start.

BTW great looking kitchen

Hit up Brace. He's the building inspector.

If I see you at the AmeriCAN fest, I can give you my experience on situations like this. Although, it is with City of Palmdale, not Lancaster.

Thanks Brace. I think I have it in hand now that the panic has subsided and I sold a kidney because the budget quadrupled. Infrastructure and concrete are in. I pick up the The alumna-wood patio cover at the end of the month and will build the frame after that’s signed off.
