Fest Returns April 29-30!!!

Post by Kevin » Fri Dec 10, 2021 5:19 pm

Start thinking up some great recipes and horrible names, Beavrs. Fest is happening April 29-30 back at Vail Lake. The few details available so far are here: https://www.calhomebrewers.org/2022-schf-info/

Campsite reservations in Jan. Attendance requires a California Homebrewers Association membership AND a ticket to Fest. More details on that later. For now, just pencil the dates in.

As always, Friday is for setup, Pro Night, and doing some warmup drinking at camp. The actual Fest will take place on Saturday for an irresponsible amount of hours. Sunday is for hangovers, tearing down, and driving home.

We need to start getting an idea on how folks are planning on attending fest (see info below). It's still a ways off, but if you want a campsite you need to speak up now. I can't recall the specifics, but I think tent/car camping care share sites.

Speak up, if you your going and if you plan to bring beer to be served at fest, we have a really nice bar, but if we only have 6 kegs, might as well go with a jockey box...

The 29th Southern California Homebrewers Festival will be on April 29 & 30, 2022. It will be held at Vail Lake KOA Resort, just outside Temecula, California.

The Southern California Homebrewers Festival brings together more than 40 homebrew beer clubs for a weekend of tasting and education. The night of Friday April 29 will feature a Pro Pour tasting from special commercial breweries, and a host of homebrew clubs. Saturday, April 30, the main event, has homebrew clubs pouring 11am – 9pm; an almost limitless selection of homebrew concoctions! Some footage from the 2016 Festival can be found here.

Only California Homebrewers Association members can attend SCHF.

Our homebrewers festival is rain or shine! Please see our Terms and Conditions for more info.

Campsite reservations at Vail Lake will be available in January 2022.

2022 CHA Membership and SCHF Registration is available in the Shop.

Don't think I'll make it this year, but the 6 faucet jockey box is at the ready if the club needs it. Also have some 20# CO2 tanks available, but they would need to be filled.

So I booked BEAVR campsites this week. We were pretty good on the lotto and are in the Oaks, sites 93-97. One of the sites is for Ed, but I got us four sites for the tent campers. Figure we'll play this by ear and see how things pan out. Hard to think about right now with Omicron going nuts, but who knows what a few months will bring.

Just a reminder.. if you are joining BEAVR at the Southern California Homebrew Fest (SCHF) on April 29th and 30th at Vail Lake RV resort near Temecula, you will need to get a membership at https://www.calhomebrewers.org and THEN purchase a ticket for SCHF. The membership is $10 and the SCHF ticket is $50. I think the ticket price goes up each month you wait. We do have campsites reserved and we will work out the details on the costs later.

Also I had to give names for each site and you'll need it for check in. Pretty sure we get 2 cars for each site so plenty of parking. Just have this list of names handy at the campground entry gate. We have more than enough camping spots for anyone who wants to come. So if you have a buddy who wants to come, bring em.

Again I'll bring a stove, frying pan and big pot for cooking. If someone has a gas grill, bring it. I'll do omelettes in a bag for everyone on Saturday morning too, so breakfast is covered. There's normally food vendors at the fest site too that you can grab food on Saturday. Since attendance is low, can everyone bring $40 for campsites and breakfast? BEAVR will still take a loss but we've got cash reserves :-)
