John Palmer visits The Bearded Brewer
John Palmer visits The Bearded Brewer
Hi All,
As was mentioned at the meeting last night, I'll be hosting the legendary John Palmer at the shop on Saturday, June 24 between 11am and 2pm. He has just released the 4th edition of How to Brew, featuring photos by our very own Special Ed.
Palmer was kind enough to offer his time for this book signing event, and I'd like to show him my gratitude by having a brew demo of one of his new extract beer kits during his visit. That leaves only one problem.... I'll be (hopefully) busy selling books and other wares, leaving little time to tend to a boil. Could I impose on a few BEAVRs to brew the kit, put out any resulting fires and discuss the process with any curious onlookers? I will provide everything needed for the brew, and whomever would like the resulting wort is welcome to take it home (calling dibs is appropriate, as is choosing what we should brew http://brewmasterwholesale.com/category ... -kits.html).
I'll also have beverages on hand (soft drinks and water only, unfortunately), snacks and chairs to make things a bit more comfortable.
I realize it will be a busy weekend for some of you (the Bravery wort transformation is tentatively scheduled for the 25th) so I greatly appreciate your participation- even if it's just for a short time. I'll also have a number of specials going on, including a BEAVR-only 20% discount on any books purchased.
If you think you'll be able to participate in the brew demo, please post below.
Thanks!

I'm in, but you've tasted my beer, maybe I should just hang around for the "put out any resulting fires" part.

I'm down to tend to the brewing and any other shenanigans that transpires.
If anyone has the bandwidth, and moreover the ferm chamber space, an Octoberfest may be a good brew with Octbeavrfest not too far in the future.

Not that I'll be needed between the brewing expertise with Jack and Josh at the helm, but I'm also down to brew. Additionally, I wouldn't mind adding this book to my collection.

Oktoberfest looks like a no-go (someone up the line forgot to put a pallet on a truck: this shipping thing must be more complicated than it appears), so ESB it is!
All prepped and ready- see you all tomorrow

"more complicated" than an extract brew tomorrow?

Thanks again to everyone who came by yesterday, and especially to those who braved the heat (109°!!) and demonstrated how to brew a simple extract batch to seasoned all-grain brewers....
Even if there wasn't much of an audience, I hope everyone had fun. See y'all at sausagefest.
